What is the approximate date when one could expect fishable numbers of Chinook in the mid section of the feather?

The Fall run on the lower Feather river does come in earlier than most CA rivers.
It is usually larger than most other Valley rivers too.
If you catch them early on in the run and lower down in the drainage they can be fresher.
With lower water this year they might even hold up at the mouth of the Feather river?
I think that "dark-thirty" in the real early morning would be best.
Right below the mouth of the Yuba river might be good......other than the dredging?

Bill,
They've already been taking a few fresh salmon up at the Thermolito outlet on the Feather. We saw several break and roll this morning on our way to fish stripers.
As for the dredging at the mouth of the Yuba, it will screw things up for quite a while as the work is supposed to take a couple of months. The other thing is the water temperature, this morning it was at 69 degrees and will probably get warmer as the outlet gets warmer.
The only cool water in the Feather will start at Thermolito and upstream of there in the lowflow which is off-limits to fishing for salmon.
