Not a single grab this evening. Looks like they are gonzo! This has been the best run since I've been fishing for shad! I can't wait to see what is in store for next year! I'm going to catch up on some sleep!

So the other day I went out on the American river and while trying to fish for some steelheads. I noticed the big black birds that dive in the water for fish pull out three about 10 inch shad and swallow them whole. So either these are young fish or there are still a few here and there in the river system.
