    Default Simms Studs

I've used the Simms carbide knobby studs on my Chota's, and they worked great and outlasted the boots. But now I have Simms regular felt soles and want the added grip of the studs. However, the Chota's had rubber holes on the soles specifically made for screw-in studs. Of course the Simms don't.

So.....has anyone had any issues with screw-in studs coming loose, falling out, or doing damage to the normal Simms felt soles?

    Thanks!

    Jeff,

Simms makes 2 different sets of studs, one for the rubber soles (shiney & short threads) and one for the felt soles (dark with longer threads)...and I have been led to believe the star cleats are now being marketed in the rubber and felt sole configurations.

Absent the Simms product being available, aluminum sheet hex head screws (of a length to go through the entire felt sole) have been used by folks for awhile too.
