    Default E Sierra wind advisory

Anyone heading to the E Side should know there's a wind advisory for Tues morning thru Tues night. Temps will be dipping below 32 in the aftermath of the low pressure system for a few nights too. I'm heading over Thursday, so watching the reports a little closer than most times...

    Default Eastside...including Truckee area

I can hear the wind howling through the swaying trees in the forest aside & behind my home right now (12:40 PM Tuesday). It is a good day to be inside & catching-up on "adminstrative" stuff. Sunday night was a record-setter in Truckee; got down to 29 degrees.

Fall is creeping-in early. The "second-season" is very near.

Well, this is my camp from late September last year...hence my concern about the weather. Remember that 1st storm? I was at 9,700 feet and it was a little chilly.

We caught lots of fish, but...brrrr

Of course bad weather is moving in because I'm off to mammoth tomorrow for 5 days. Its a conspiracy I tell ya. Casting in the wind, Possibly one of the most valuable skills to have.

When it's a little more than breeeezy, I try to keep my line low and drop down a weight. Works for me (most of the time)

    Default Going to Heenan, windy?

I'm headed there this weekend. Wind was so bad last year, (later though) that I
got out and dragged a pontoon half way around the west shore. Any reports from last weekend?

    Default White caps on Tahoe

Currently it's cool with strong SW winds to 25mph+. The forecast is for much more pleasant weather over the next couple of days and weekend. So head on up here.
