    Default Favorite Backpacking Trip

    Hey guys,

I'm going to be home from school soon and am planning on doing some backpacking. I was going to do Yosemite but the weather isn't looking too good right now.

Do you guys have any suggested 2 night backpacking trips either in the Sac Valley or in the Eureka area for scenery/solitude/great fishing?

Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks a lot!

    Default Backpacking

It seems a little early for my favorite spots....
What I will suggest is you call around to the ranger districts in the areas you want to pack and see what the conditions are today.

The Marble Mountain Wilderness is one of my favorite places to both hike and fish (Lakes) but I think it is too early.

Maybe some place on the eastern side of the Sierras?

    Default ishi wilderness

Ishi is a nice lower elevation wilderness area that is awesome in the spring, has some good fishing and almost no crowds.

Default Does it have to be for trout?

    Hi jhaquett,

Have you considered hike-in bluegill/bass ponds? Henry Coe state park is having some great fishing for bass and bluegill right now. I've also heard some good things about Spenceville Wilderness Area.

    Hope this helps.
