    Default Delta camping

Thinking of heading to the Delta for fishing/camping this weekend. Looking for a camping area I can launch the boat, get into some spring fishing, and camp out in the evening.

I hear Russo's Marina is a friendly place but I was hoping for something a little more "camping" feeling. From what I understand, there are a ton of areas you can camp for free, and I am looking for something primitive and quiet, with a boat launch nearby.

    any recommendations?
    feel free to PM me.

Thanks for the reply! I will check that place out.

We ended up reserving a 2-person "floating houseboat" http://www.beacon-harbor.com/rentals.html#houseboats

It was pretty cheap, at $60 a night, and appears to be new and clean. I will report back on the stay, and the slay.

    Thumbs up

I have stayed in the house boats at Beacon at least a half dozen times and found them very convenient and clean. My boat was slipped at night next to the HB with power for my charger. Very nice for weather days because the units and slips are under cover. The galley is small but functional with a fridge, gas stove and micro wave. The gas BBQ on the front deck needs a good cleaning befor use but gives you a opportunity to grill on the boat. A nice little color tv with built in dvd and stereo system will offer music or movie after a long day on the water. FYI- The restrooms at the end of the dock used to have a beat up old shower and head but last summer it was demolished. I don't know if they have been reopened. A locked gate at the foot of the dock keeps you and your gear reasonably safe during your stay. A 12 pack of Coor's light to the boys on the tractor will give you that added help if you find yourself in need. DO NOT LEAVE VALUABLES IN THE HOUSEBOAT WHILE YOUR AWAY. I give the the whole experiance at Beacon a 7.5 http://www.beacon-harbor.com/index.html
FYI-They have 3 units to choose from the unit below is 60.00

    Default this weekend instead

So on account of the storm, tournaments, and recent cold weather we decided to go down this weekend instead of last. Saturday's blue bird powder day was great.

We got few other folks to go in with us and rented the aqua lodge for Saturday. I will still check out the 2-man "houseboat" but the aqua lodge seems much nicer.

Looking forward to better conditions (weather and fishing) this weekend!

We ended up staying at the AquaLodge at Beacon Harbor.
It was pretty nice, but the loft is tiny. But for $120 winter/$150 summer it was an ok deal.

Fishigg was tough. but the weather was great.
