    Default Bodega Bay Surf Perch

Just got back from a really good day fishing Surf Perch at Bodega Bay with Keith Kaneko Andy Guibord. We started a couple hours before low tide and stayed a couple hours after low tide. The day was perfect, foggy and not too much wind. This was my first time Surf Perch fishing and I do believe I have found my calling. Landed ~15 and had about 5-6 more grabs.

Keith reviewed the tide charts and set us up for success. I will definitely be doing this again. The combination of fighting the surf while casting is what did it for me.

Definitely cool you guys had a good outing.
They are quite fun when you find a good school of them.
Did you guys get mostly barred or some red tails and calico as well?
We get the occasional calico down south, but no red tail surf perch like up north.

Great job Gregg! Nothing quite like standing in the surf and facing the open ocean with the breeze in your face.

    Thumbs up

Congrats Gregg. Welcome to the insanity of the West Coast Surf Game. Gotta love the wildness!

I had a feeling Keith would do his homework first before bringing you guys "out west." Right team, right place, right time -- nice.
    Cheers, Ken
