    Default Mid mountain stream

Went up to the mountains on Saturday for some dry fly action and I was not disappointed. No monsters but plenty of action to keep me happy. It has been a while since I have done any rock and boulder hopping, so needless to say my legs are still a little sore. Unlike John who got hailed on I had a nice clear day with the occasional cloud going over. I was hoping for a golden stone hatch but didn't see one, I was probably still to early.

The hike in, but also the hike out.

    Aahhhh the beauty.

    The average size beauty.

There has to be some big ones in here.

    A little bigger.

It is just so beautiful up here.

Nothing but dries, my favorite kind of day.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

Scott, way to go! It doesn't get any better! What's a fisherman to do? So many gorgeous locations and fish, and so little time

You really need to stand back a little ways to get the whole affect of that bridge. One of the really cool spots there.

Elwood: It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Default More mid mtn streams?

Like Phil said, we hit on Monday. And we hit it hard.

Busted brush to access the water, this was our first sight of the lovely h2o.

Phil promply hooked into his first willow of the season. Oh, the joy.

Just look at the spot the willow was keeping him away from. Man I love this place.

Taking in some sun. Scott, did you come across any garter snakes?

Phil said Bill wanted a "trophy" shot with his hat in view. Here ya go Bill.

We've decided to call this the Money Hole.

Here's a few of Phil trying not to screw up.

    Gotcha!

No you don't, I'm outta here. A very nice bow for this water.

Phil's up at the top of the falls on the left chute.

A change of pace. Different, smaller, much more challenging water. If you sneeze you spook every fish for 100 yards. But just look at these little jewels.

Phil demonstrates, er, one way to do it.
Psst, Phil, don't always listen to me.

We found a tunnel that leads out into the Amazon rain forest.

    Browns? In a rain forest?

Mostly a pic report because I gotta go to bed. We fished til dark, covered 3 canyons, started at 6 and got home at 10. Up at 4 for work. I'm beat. But what a day, just wish I was camping up there.

I saw a big snake while I was out there Ed, all I could see was the tail and it was black and thick.

    Nice shorts Phil.
