Default new line by rio for switch rods?

I was wondering if anyone had heard any info on new line in 2009 by rio for switch rod. Not sure but something along the line of a very short head skagit. If any one has heard any details thankyou for the response!

Rio has a new "Skagit Short" line for 2009 which you then add 15' sinktips or lead-core or T-14 tips. It is in a line, not a head, in limited sizes at first.

    275, 325, 375, 425 & 475 grains.

We also have the other new short lines and heads for shorter small Spey rods and Switch rods.

We have Airflo 'Compact Skagit' heads (now) and 'Compact Scandi' heads (very soon).

SA/Mastery 'Spey Skagit Single Hand' for Switch and Single hand rods (now).

Beulah 'Elixer Switch' rod lines (now) and very soon in heads.

Bill, I was wondering what the over all length of the short Skagit line would be. Thanks
Fishing is always good, the catching may not be.

I just went to look on the Rio site and I believe they are working on it right now.

I think the new Rio Short Skagits are very short according to their data but I was wondering if they are counting the back taper?

    Bruce/Bill,
Should be an interesting line but it seems like they already have a pretty good switch skagit line in the WC bodies - seems like they are around 22 to 24 feet in length

    Hi Rick,

For 2009 they have eliminated that "funny" middle section from the WindCutter Versitip Spey lines so those short bellies might not be available for long.
