First HP on a spey rod

Last week, I was honored to buy Anne Vitale's first spey rod, a used model, in preparation for the steelhead and salmon run. I promised her I would post a picture of the rod and any fish I caught. I was practicing my casting while three other fishermen were downstream from me when I hooked and landed this feisty 16 inch HP on the swing with a copper assassin within an hour of arriving at the A.

The plastic dry pak bag makes the colors and focus surreal. Kind of like my first spey experience with my own rod.

Gracious me....or should I say..Gracious?....ME? Although I appreciate the complement, it is far more then I deserve . Be that as it may, I am very glad to see that the rod has found a new and loving owner. Use it in good health and prosperity. I am looking forward to seeing many more shots of half pounders and their big brothers and sisters brought to your hand.....Anne
