Default There are plenty of Stripers in the American River

Morie Hatch took a 16 pounder down near Paradise in the last few weeks.

They will be in every mile of the Lower American River.

They should be on the bite as long as it's still warm, through October at least.

Some are caught wading but drifting and quartering downstream in a boat is usually more productive.

Stripers do spend the summer in many of the cooler Valley rivers.

I think they are in the Lower Sac, lower Feather, lower American, lower Mokelumne, lower Stan and other too? I think they like the cool water.

I landed one dink yesterday .

No skunk yet for the last 6 trips !! Still masses of drunken rafters out there (I thought they would taper-off after labor day ...) so watch where you cast and bring an extra trash bag .

Anyone see any fresh Salmon yet ??
