    Default American report , 1-21

Hit the river for the first time this year . Horrific E/NE wind at 20 , gusting to well over 30 . Kind of difficult to cover the water without doing the 'wrap-n-slap' to my tender self :P

Nothing hooked in my deep run . Coming back , saw a few flyguys fishing the shallows ...... they left , I took a look .

Several Steelies - not cutting redds or spawning ...... very shallow ,very close . Just sort of sitting there . Kind of strange ....

    I left 'em alone .

    Winter ..... what can I say ?

I got out in the 'gusties' today and if I had had a fly rod, I likely would have broken it so I must say, I was glad to be tossing a chunk of gold-plated steel.

Managed to hook and land a beautiful, hatchery hen.

A nice 43rd birthday gift for my 2 hours at Paradise Beach this afternoon.

She was released to see at least her... 3rd birthday

    Default HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

Good looking, bright fish.... I chose to stay home, fearing the wind, yesterday..... Probably should've done what you did.
