Can one still access the Yuba and the dam through the Goldfields at Hammonton during Shad season?

If the gate is open Hammonton is the only access. The north side is all private and posted.
If you've been there before, good luck picking the right road that takes you there.
Lots of water going through now too.

Unfortunately, there is no public access to get to Daguerre Dam as both sides are private property.
Most anglers access the river at Hallwood and walk up or down the river from there.
This year the water is going to be very high, not as high as last year, but it definitely won't be low enough to wade across.
The gate on Hammond at this time is still locked and still chatting with John about how ppl can use that road as it is a public road and they are blocking river access which isn't legal. But when guns are involved and pointing them at the local landowners, drastic situations call for drastic measures.
One option is to float down from Sycamore if you have a kayak or pontoon, portage around Daguerre on the south side and float to Hallwood. There is a shuttle service that could run the shuttle for you too.
