Looking to bring a 2nd stick for a maiden trip to Baja. Please let me know if you are looking to offload any 10 or 11wt rods and/or reels. Not looking to break the bank but understand the need for quality gear.
Thank you and tightlines!

Nicad,
That is top-of-the-line offshore saltwater fly fishing gear.
Are you going to Loreto or the East Cape?

I have fished with Carl and purchased some of his hand-me-downs. He takes impeccable care of his gear and he sells stuff on this forum for fair prices.
Thank you both for the feedback.
Mr. Blackledge - I just sent you a PM and look forward to your response. Thank you!
For a backup saltwater fly rod, we recommended the Redington "Predator" for $349, new with a lifetime warranty.
Owned by Far Bank, the Redington rods are designed by the same folks who do the Sage rods.

We had far less breakage with Reding Predators than with other imported fly rods.
For wading the East Cape (for Roosters) most use #9 and #10 outfits.
For offshore in boats in the Sea of Cortez, they use #10 to #12 with the occasional larger rods, #14 - 16, for fish over 100#s

I have a Loomis 10/11 I would sell for $200-great rod
Agree on the Predator. It is my backup ten weight. I've also picked up Sage Salt HD used for good prices in 8 and 9 weight. Worth looking out for.
Buying used high-end fly rods is a good way to go.
They should cast a little better and be a little lighter than imported, larger size fly rods.

My favorite rod down there is my R.L. Winston XTR 10wt. Dorados and Roosters alike are perfect with this.
To go along with this rod I have two reels, a Tibor Riptide or a Redington Brakewater #11/12. Both are loaded with gel spun braided backing and floating lines. The Tibor has the name, but the Brakewater has the largest disc drag in the industry. This is all like new and top of the line for $500.00 with either reel.
