Veteran fly fisher, Walt Bennet, used to use the Hardt Princess fly reel for his trout fishing.
He had 2 frames and 5 spools total with #6 weight fly lines on them.
I liked that idea so I had 2 Princess frames and 5 spools total for my 6 weight outfit.
I had a WF6F, WF6 Intermediate, WF6S type #2 sink, WF6S type 3 sink, and a WF6F/S type 3, 10' sink-tip.
The Hardy Princess was a very popular fly reel in the 1950s, 60s, and 70s.
A new Hardy Princess fly reel is $499 today.
Great large diameter fly reel for a 9' or 9'6"#5 or #6 weight fly rod.
They have a very smooth, light, click and pawl drag.
