It was really slow yesterday. Between the two if us we hooked only one fish and only saw two guys catch fish the whole day.

I’ll be up there this weekend. We will see how it goes. I know the bite is warming up but is not quite there.

How do "we" feel about fishing Pyramid Lake during a full moon week?
Next full moon is December 7, Wednesday.

Top Stillwater fly fisher Jay Fair:
Jay did not like "blue bird weather" for lake fishing.
He liked to go out very early.
I think he like early and late in the day or days with overcast....low light level.
I believe Jay like a little breeze too.
I think Jay preferred to wade fish lakes although he was famous for his specialized guiding with flies in a boat.
He moved his fly "very, very slow".....
I think Jay used a "true Intermediate" very slow sinking line.......1/2 inch per second.......most of the time.
He liked a small amount of weight in his flies.

I know Pyramid Lake is not the typical shallow, weeding lake like Davis and Eagle that Jay frequented.
I think today, with the potentially large size of "new old fish", that Pyramid Lake is one of the most exciting Stillwater fisheries.

I don't like fishing full moon periods, period.
I use to fish any time I could find time, and if that was a full moon, so be it. usually those trips were blanks or close to it. I will say most of that was delta striper fishing so tides were a factor there as well.
