Default Getting new outboard for my boat

I bought a boat trailer for my 12' Olympian fiberglass tri-hull boat and got it on there now.

I am getting a new Honda 4 stroke outboard for it this week so I can get out on the water.

Well, I got a great deal on a slightly used Yamaha 15hp, 4 stroke with electric start from Buck's Outboards in south Sacramento.

I got it on my boat and need to get a small battery today and a few other little things.

I think that Eugene Graham and I will be launching at Howe Avenue tomorrow morning early for a little test run and some Striper chasing.

I like to launch at Howe so I can run up to Watt and down to State College. This is a nice stretch for small boats.

If you have a small boat, canoe or kayak you might join us. You can put a pontoon boat or float tube in at Watt and float down too. It is nice flat slow "bassy" water.

I'm glad that you're getting a motor for your boat Bill, that was fun fishing the Hex hatch out of it.

I have floated the Watt - Howe strecth in a float tube and it made me a little nervous. It seems faster when your sitting IN the water, not in a boat ON the water........ plus you need a very good anchor the hold you if you want to cancentrate on one spot, but holding with an anchor with a float tube in the flows of the American is a little dicey and kicking to stay in place is not really possible and will just tire you out quickly.

I would not try it again unless the water flows was much lower.

Bill, I am finally going to take my pram out on the Fall River. Thanks again for your generosity. I will post many pictures about the trip when I return.

Got a small dry cell jet ski battery from Battery Bills in North Sac.

These can sit for a year or more without discharging like a old lead/acid battery.

I would recomend a heavy duty all welded Jon boat like a Lowe Roughneck.

Fiberglass is not the best for our rocky rivers.

Took it out this morning at Howe Avenue.

Eugene and I motored up from Howe Avenue to Watt Avenue and floated down casting all the way.

Then we floated all the way to State College/Fair Oaks Blvd.

We even rowed back into the ponds on the south side between Watt and Howe.

We said two big deer with horns and about 4 females.

We got one small Striper but were praying for a nice one.

    Boat and motor ran great.
