    Howdy Bill,
The Aaron reels were made in Grass Valley. I was on the Pro Staff for them for many years. My favorite was the 7/8 size.
The reels were built sturdy, well fit with a tight tolerance, excellent in saltwater environs, and utilized a Synthetic brake pad. This was certainly a departure from all the reel designs with cork brakes.

The spool had a pretty cool lock/unlock feature (simply press in the spool release button and rotate it counterclockwise to release or clockwise to secure). No issues with accidents of spools popping off in the field.

I still believe they were a great reel. I was sorry to see them stop production. Good people, good product.

    Cheers, Ken
