Thanks for the report Dan. Those big blue gill must have been fun to sight with the glass 4wt. I liked you analogy on the shad and stripers being like the bluegill and bass of the rivers. Fun read!

Dan, nice slabs! Gills are scrappy fighters, pound for pound probably one of the hardest fighters. Love that sculpin/baitfish pattern on your blog! Love fishing sculpins and would love to tie that one up! Recipe?

Its based on a Lefty Kreh/Bob Clouser half and half but I added a little bulk at the head with some schlappen and marabou and put a stinger hook on 65lb braid off the back, got tired of the mackinaw hitting the tail of the fly.
