Back in the day these were highly regarded reels for their durability, performance, and overall bang for the buck. Made in the US, machined, smooth disc drag, uncomplicated engagement system, and you get a reel AND 2 spools? This is a deal!

I don't know the seller, but I do recognize a good bargain!

Over the 50 years I was in the fishing tackle business there was always a 'go to' fly reel for the masses.

When I started it was naturally the Pflueger Medalist, made in the USA.

The Cortland Crown was a great cheap die cast fly reel that was very popular, made in England.

Another big one was the Scientific Angler 3M System One series - click and pawl with a rim drag made by Diawa in Japan.

Then came along the Orvis Battenkill series at around $99.00 for the trout size, made in England.

The last big one was the Orvis Mid Arbor series which was fully machined, anodized, had a disc drag, rim drag and larger arbor.

I still have some of all these fly reels......

I'll take 'em! Great reel, and a great price. Just left a voice mail at the number in your first post.
