Yes, it was. I was thinking "What a cool way to get around fishing." after you passed me.

This might not be the right place but the other night I was able to get into some striper action on the river. There must be some shad in the water to follow.....

Double digits last night with a couple of big hens, one pushing 4 lbs. Broke out an older pattern, the Badder Santa, to get it. Even had to put her on the reel to bring her in! There were more anglers and boats out last night even though it was cool and windy with the Delta breeze.

20 plus to the boat on a short float last night with Earle Sloane. Like the norm for this run the fish were scattered all over the place but we found some with having to move around much. Flies that worked were the Maria, Purple Murple, Wet Pinkie and the Badder Santa.

    Great reports, Jeff. Much appreciated.

How far up the AR do you figure they are now?

    Thanks.

Up to Nimbus Dam so they are throughout the whole AR. In the past week shad have been caught in the lower, middle and upper AR. Some spots are better than others along with the time of day.

Strange evening! One shad to the boat after 1.5 hours on a short float with Earle. We ended up with double digits to the boat! Thunder , lightening and rainbows too boot!
