There are some spey that are integrated, meaning the running line is incorporated into the head such as a RIO Chucker, RIO Switch, RIO Powerspey, Unispey or Short Head Spey. Most, if not all, skagit and scandi and systems require a running line such as connect core, grip shooter, powerflex or slick shooter. The running lines are much, much thinner than the heads, much thinner. The guys over at Kiene's are really great at answering any questions...give them a call.
