Davis area

We are going to Davis Lake around Oct 16th. We usually fish it for 2 days. Question to all you good people-- If Davis is slow, what other fishing opportunities are in the area? Is Almanor too far? What general area to start fishing on Almanor? Don't care if other options beside Davis are panfish, bass, or trout. It's all good.

There must be some waters you know about in the Davis area for back up fishing plans. I already know about Frenchmans.
We have float tubes.

Jon Baiocchi is good about updates in his blog--doesn't look too promising. I've never fished Frenchmans and can't find much current information. Any current updates appreciated greatly, PMs are fine thanks.

Never fished Almanor, don't know where to go. Have a boat if needed, prefer pontoons if possible. We're open, thanks! ~John
