Guide trip today with two anglers 39 fish to the boat including a nice 21" brown. Algae was at a minimum and after the wind started blowing the water cleaned up very nicely. The last storm that came thru broke up a lot of the algae because it was very stringy last weekend.

Fishing remains excellent for fish in the 18" to 24" class with Rainbow, Browns and Cutts up to 19"

North Landing all the way to the beginning of Six Bays is pumping out most of the quality fish.

I have updated my web site with pictures and information.

Now is the time to head to Crowley before the lake closes November 15th.

If I can be of any help please let me know.

Hope to see you on the water soon!!

    Hey Ernie,

Thanks for the great day of fishing!! That was fun. Looking forward to doing it again next year.

For those of you not familiar with Ernie or Crowley Lake, he knows his stuff.

What he didn't say in his post was we missed the take on at least another 30 more. But that was our fault, not his. He did his job. He put us on the fish, we just couldn't put them in the net.

Plus the fall colors were gorgeous over there this time of year.

    Dave

Crowley continues to fish well, especially along the deep drop offs from shore from Sandy Point all the way into North Landing. You have a shot at a monster brown. I witnessed a monster well into the 30" class come up 20 feet away from my boat and suck down a small rainbow trout. The flush was the size of the hood of my truck. Very exciting this time of year so come and take your shot at a record Brown.

If you are going after any big browns try to fish something in the 4" to 8" class for flies. Stripper flies are very effective and are what I have used in the past. Currently I am using a Rainbow trout imitation that is made out of wig hair and colored to match the rainbow. Its 7" long and I fish this on a 9wt rod with type 4 sinking line and 20lb tippet. The are looking for a big meal!

And by the way the Rainbows are up to 24" and the Cutts are 17" to 19" so many other opportunity for you anglers.

Hope to see you out on the water soon!
