I'm really busy now with duck season and haven't taken out the fly tying gear in a bit. When you fish the fly it would be on the swing. At the end of the swing, bring it back in short pulls for 6-10 ft before recasting.
Very good estuary pattern for me. You can Google Horner Brown Shrimp and get a listing of several sources for purchasing as many as you need. If you want to check out some history and tying instructions try:

Of course, you can also Google Horners Silver Shrimp to get a variation. There're a wide variety of colors/sizes usable in tying this pattern. It's usually fished in shallow water but can be easily weighted for fishing deeper. If fishing shallow estuaries, the strip should be short. Think in terms of 6"-10".

Horner shrimp fly still not available at any fly shop I guess is the time to start learning how to tie,a lot videos on this fly, thanks Don
Seems very similar to Schmidt's Antron Bug that works well on the Michigan and Erie fish. His 'shrimp' is very light and is only in size 6. It's a pretty easy tie as well.
Don, I just got off the phone with Mike at the Eureka Fly Shop. He hasn't any Horner Shrimp in stock but said he could tie you up some. Give him a call at (707) 444-2000, ext 2#, and talk to him. The best I have found is the standard brown back with silver body and grizzly hackle. Good luck.
Great I'll try to hook up with him, funny a lot of info on this fly all over the net but nowhere to purchase, your a good guy Charlie thanks again,Don
