    Default South Delta Report

I hit the south delta last sunday and got into some good stripers first thing in the am. I was fishing a break and the fish were in shallow water at first, about 7 ft and it dropped off to 19 ft. I was throwing a clouser pattern on a 3/0 jig hook. The first fish ran to the middle of the slough and broke me off, I was using a 5 ft 20 lb big game section that he must have got in the rocks. The second fish made the same run but I was quick on the trolling motor and caught up with him and got him to the boat. My first 30 in striper on a fly rod and I could'nt have been more excited.

My 29 inch striper weighted 9.7 pounds. I am still looking for that 10+ pound fish like yours.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!
