    Default Nothing

I've been out quite a few times in September and October, 4 times in the last 2 weeks, and have only hooked a little shaker. I've talked with others on the river and it seems others are having trouble finding fish as well. With the flows being at 4100 or so, maybe that has something to do with it, maybe not. Anyway, it's been tough for me at least.

My experience has been this: First time out caught a 13" and 19" half pounder.

After that is went like this: Skunk, skunk, skunk.

Sigh....thought it would be a better run, but thinking all the flow fluctuation
might have messed up things. In Sept it was spiking 2000 cfs in a three
    hour stretch.

The flow is a little high still at about 4,000 cfs.

We are not hearing anything exciting about half-pounders this fall on the Lower American River.

Lots of salmon in almost all rivers in Nor Cal this fall though.

I think Lower Yuba and Lower Feather have Steelhead.

I would go to the Trinity, Klamath or Rogue Rivers for the next month or so.

I've only caught 4 halfpounders in the last 6 weeks on the A. Last one was 20 incher about a week and a half ago on a streamer pattern. There were tons of smolts at the start but now it's been hard to even find them.

Each night I see a five to six rising up (or out of the water actually) however I have yet to hook into one.

Using : wet Flys (black/green and purple); egg sucking leaches (purple, black)

swinging them...... 6 ft 8lbs fluorocarbon leader.....

Man I was catching a lot of Salmon drifting wondering why there is little action with my desired prey
