Default First Hatch Feather River Report

I had the pleasure of having two great anglers on my boat today. Mar C and Sam Y. I made them get up super early to try for some Top Water action at one of my favorite spots on the Feather river. We launched before first light and set up on a drift and worked the area thoroughly with not one rise or grab. Dang it !!! Plan B- go subsurface the rest of the day. They worked hard, and we found a fish here and a fish there, but over all a slow day. The fish we did find were hard fighting, fat, decent quality fish. Great weather, great casters and great guys.

    Maury,
Try bringing a good luck photographer. I have heard from a reputable sourse they are well worth the expense! Well, if you were casting, you beat the wind and that is half the battle. The river fishing can be a little finiky I'm told. Better luck next time I guess.

Another epic trip aboard the Striper Sniper. Made a bunch of casts, battled some feisty stripes and ate like kings. I'll take that any day. Thanks again for an awesome trip Hatch!
