    Default Trinity Trip - 12/2 & 3

Fished the Trinity River on 12/2 and 12/3. It was pretty cold - in the 20's at night and the high 40's to low 50's during the day with a little snow still on the ground from the Thanksgiving weekend storm.

Fished downriver on 12/2 in the Sayler area without any luck (no takes, no fish rolling, etc).

Fished from the JohnsonHole to Dutton Creek on 12/3 with Todd "Slim" Cancilla from Sac River Outfitters. Great guide, very informative, and made the cold trip enjoyable.

Inidcator fished with eggs and nymphs. Landed two half-pounders, one brown, two adult bucks (28" and 30"), one adult hen (28" and roughly 10#), and one lamprey eel. Hooked and lost another four fish, one was so hot it jumped into the trees and threw the fly.

A good trip, but not the crowds that have been mentioned...maybe the cold weather kept people away. Some salmon in the river and saw some good sized pods in the slack water and deeper holes.

Wow! What a great report. Your smiles are almost as big as the fish. I am always amazed at how one of the worlds greatest gamefish is so willing to take a fly.
