Default Flyfishing & Tying Journal Patent Patterns Contest

Last night, I perused my new Winter 2007 issue of Flyfishing & Tying Journal and noticed that, lo and behold, Scott (username "slage") has a fly he tied featured as a runners-up in the Steelhead patterns category of the Patent Patterns contest. The contest gets a lot of entries and the flies that end up featured in the magazine are awesome, so it's fantastic to see one of our board member's flies featured. A VERY nice tie Scott, congratulations!

That's a great looking bug Scott! Congrats! I have not been able to find the Arizona Peacock dubbing at a couple of my shops here locally so I have substituted Peacock Ice Dub for this pattern that I've been working on...

It's called an "Evil Weevil". Mine don't look this good, but they are getting better! I guess I'll have to order some of that dubbing. (And learn how to make the Maribou do that!)
