So,
School has been reallyh ard lately so the parents decided to take me fishin. This actually i sthe first trip i have gone on since we have moved to salem, oregon from placerville. Well the day was nice, woke up at sunrise, it was freezing thought. Got on the water in the midst of a mayfly hatch and right away hooked up on a pmd, resulted in about a 13 inch planter, let i tgo and resumed fishing. Next hookup, was tyhe last, but it was exciting, the hatch stopped, and the trout were still grabbing mosquitoes off the surface, so i tied one on and threw it out, and right away i hooked up and fought the fish for about 45 seconds, go it close to the boat, and all i new is that it was big, as soon as i realize its about an 18 ich bull trout, it lives up to its names sake, turns, runs and snaps my 6X tippet, i almost screamed. That wwas the last hookup and had various other strikes but to no avail.
right after i launched, just my luke that my parents are back at camp when i get one.Ths was from about a mile away, the water was about 3ft deep, full of stumps and picky cruising trout. Sheltered point where all the fish were rising. The lake was in the direct shadow of Mt.Hood, it was absolutely breath taking.

Tight lines,
