Baja California, look out

There was an article in the last Western Outdoor News weekly paper about people getting robbed and shot on the Mex. 1 highway. Larry and Raquel Duarte owners of a motel and restaurant where shot to death and robbed. It was near the town of Catavina. I don't fish Mexico, but those who drive down there, be aware and travel in groups.

Kinda looks like crime in Baja, Mexico is finally catching up with the level of that in the US. (....and the rest of Mexico) Actually, The border areas between the two countries have always been dangerous to travellers and Mexican citizens....

Just out of curiosity, where is Catavina, MX Couldn't locate it on my Baja map.

Catavina is in the Norte Baja, about 65 miles from Rosario, they where traveling from L.A. Bay to Ensenada. What the editor believes what happen was they making a bank run from their resort.
