White Tail Fly Tieing products is a great place to purchase deer hair. Chris Helm has a video tape out on the market that's very detailed on which hair to use on what bugs. A few years back, I had the pleasure to watch Chris tie some of his famous hair bugs. For trimming, he used an electric barber clipper.

I still have some of the long deer hair strips. As a matter of fact, I was spinning some hair today, making some gaud awful looking hair bugs for this coming week.
