    Default Klamath river resort.

My wife and I stayed at the Klamath river resort which is right on the river above Happy Camp on Wednesday and Thursday. Nice place to stay if you're going to fish the river. Had the place mostly to ourselves and they'll take you up river to kayak down back to the hotel. I guess it's about a 4 hour trip down and most of it is away from the road. Had my wife, dogs and a bum elbow so I couldn't fish but I plan on going back with the kayak and my fishing gear in the early fall next year.

The folks working there said they're about a week or two away for fishing to start picking up.

    Great Harry,

We would be fishing up there in October on a normal year.

Besides Klamath River Resort above Happy Camp there is Marble Mountain Ranch at Solmes Bar just above Orleans. We also stay at the Klamath River Lodge below Orleans.

I have these places listed at the bottom of my Klamath river reports page.

Talked to Bruce middle of last week and he was back up there for an evening and the half pounders are starting to show in good numbers.

I am torn about heading up there next wekend but think I will go farther north and hit the North Umpqua for a couple of days - it has been calling to me for awhile!! Let's hope for some cooler weather or better yet a true front!

Shawn, there are a few shuttles on the trinity. There is the service that most of the guides use but i am not sure of the phone number. From junction city up you can call Linda who runs weaverville taxi and she will shuttle as well. Sorry i am not sure of her phone number though. Real nice lady.
