    Default kodiak Alaska

Well we are here on kodiak Island for 14 days.
Cody and I had a chance to do some fishing for Dally varden on the Buskin river. Fishing was GREAT !!! We Landed over 45 fish each in 6hrs . The hardest part was keeping the small ones off the hook long enought to hook the bigger on

    BIG Bear tracks all over!!!

Cody with a nice Dolly on.

They run up to 20-25''on the Buskin river.

We have not seen any Brown Bears yet but their foot prints are all over the place . We always make a lot noise when moving from place to place so we do not startle any. We are staying at my daughters house here on koadiak and there are even Bear prints and trails across the street.

The scenery is awsome here .

We fished the Buskin river again last night and landed over 60 Dolly Vardens each . These fish are full of Spunk and hammer a streamer like no other fish I have ever caught. Cody is using a 4 wt and I a 5 and these fish are a hand full. The best fly was a streamer with a plastic Egg in front of it.

This was the fly of choice for the Dally Vardens.
A Minnow streamer with plastic Egg .
The Biggest fish were holding under the brush along the edge.
The faster the retrieve the better.

    Rob,

Great photo's... Keep them coming. Don't forget to keep in eye out for Yogi and Boo-Boo!
Why is it we have to work so hard all week, to try and fish as much as we can in two days? That's just wrong!!!

Cody and I tried our luck at the mouth of the Bushin River and hooked a ton of Pink Salmon and a few Chum. It was a blast using 3 and 5 wt rods.
I also hooked a rainbow that was full of spunk and beautiful.

The Only Rainbow of any size we landed.

And Dallin my grand son with a Salmon on .
He hooked him in the tail . No way we could land him so we had to break him off.
