    Default Kennedy Meadows Help

I'm going up to Kennedy Meadows Resort (Hwy 108, just before Sonora Pass). Anyone with tips, tricks, flies/size, who has been up there before?

I'm going with the family, so will probably be doing most of my fishing near the resort where, as I understand, there are some wild trout, but mostly planters.

I'd like to sneak off one day to hike and hit pure wild trout (upstream?).

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated!

    Thanks!

    - Rick.

    Default Kennedy Meadows....

Rick,.... Can't help you woth the fishing but the Kennedy Meadows area was closed to backpacking/camping earlier this spring for the summer by the park service due to the amount of snow up there.... As of early July, that closure was still in affect. You might want to check with the park service before going up there....

Rosebud, if it is open fish elk hair caddis and stimulators with a PT or prince nymph dropper. Maybe even try a foam ant, terrestrials are great on high elevations treams. I have fished there about eight years ago but nothing recently...although small streams like that don't change much. Good Luck.
