Hwy 50, Foothill lake

Looking for info on a foothill lake from east of El Dorado, Hwy 50 to S. Lake Tahoe. Want to spend a lazy Sunday on a foothill lake swimming, eating and relaxing with the lovely wife and pooch.
"Not to fish, right?"
"No-
Fishing isn't the main concern but going for the Trifecta.
Ideas that would allow the first and some nice shore or tributary would be very appreciated.

Take Hwy 50 east to the Crystal Basin turnoff and turn left.

Drive past Ice House Reservoir and Union Valley Reservoir turn offs and drive on to little Gerle Creek Reservoir on your left. There is a little camp ground there too.

Loon Lake is after that.

You might look at all 4 lakes though.

There are streams in the area too.

Further up Hwy 50 is Wrights Lake and Dark Lake.
