Jeff Putnam is getting a custom 12' tunnel prop boat from southern Oregon very soon with a 20hp Honda.

I have studied and talked with lots about tunnel prop boats that are popular in Texas Gulf flats.

The 'G3' tunnel prop Jon boat comes 17' with a Yamaha 60hp prop and looks pretty cool.

I do hear you loose power with a tunnel prop too so you need a large motor.

Thanks for the info on the G3 boats Bill. They really do look nice. I think what I'm going to do is to get a small pram/drift boat strictly for the AR and maybe Yuba river. My ultimate boat would be a bass boat for the delta. I initially thought one boat could do it all but a jack of all trades is a master of none. I love drifting down the AR but realize that a 20 foot bass boat just wouldn't make it.

Do you know which builder Jeff's using for his custom 12 footer?
