Nehu
Aloha Paul, I forgot to tell you about nehu, they are our local sardines, and the preferred inshore bait fish. A small deciever, or a small clouser resembles them. They are right on the surface, and hang out around structure. They are pretty small only a couple of inches, but get whacked all the time. In stained water I use a chartreuse and white clouser that works pretty well. In clear water, blue and white, or grey and white. Rainy's has a Furmansky bug skin anchovey that is a pretty good pattern for that fish. Barracuda love to eat them. Good luck, try Hanalei bay for bones, I heard that place produces. Mems.
