A new digital on the horizon

Well, my 35mm digital just crapped out. It's only two years old but has already failed. It's the konica-minolta 7D digital. I think it happened last year in Australia in the heat and humidity. According to 3 tech people the CCD sensor has shorted out. It will work while it's still cool but when the weather heats up, the sensors shut down.

Looking at the Nikon D70a and the D200... Leaning more towards the D70 because I don't need 10 megs and for the price of the D200 I could purchase two D70s bodies. Has anyone used either or both.

I shoot both models at work and each performs very well but I think the D70 would be a better fit for you and what you shoot. Give me a call if you want to go over the specifics.

I purchased the D70S. I've been shooting alot of photo's, I might even take it to baja in a couple weeks along with my new Canon GL1 mini DV camera.
I have 5 lenses and waiting for the new 105mm 2.8 micro lens to hit the market. The reason I went with the Nikon is because I already have the Nikon F100. I'm still learning are the tricks of the digital but have set up a bunch of commands in the CSM mode.

I was going to take some photo's of the carp tonight but instead I was shooting photo's of a borate bomber fighting a grass fire by the lake. I'm sure we'll have a few more fires this weekend with all the people at the lake for the long 4th weekend.

I will be posting some baja photo's as soon as I scan and save them to my files.

Many years ago I met a professional photographer from Japan who was on Christmas Island shotting lots of photos for the Kiribati government.

He had a dozen cameras and they had all failed after 6 weeks but one completely mechanical 35mm SLR camera still worked.

These where all 35mm film cameras and the humidity got them all.

I think that water proof cameras are good for the tropics.

Or cameras in water proof housings?
