Default Bass fishing is picking up

The fishing at my residential pond was much better last night. I found a new spot where I caught more large bass (larger than my average for this pond.) I fished for about 5 hours last night, one hour of that was fishing after dark in the moonlight.

Here's one, only 14", but fat.

I also caught some large bluegill in the same area.

This is a large green perch.

The moon is almost full and the night fishing was also very fun with large poppers.

These poppers are larger than those I first started to use. I wanted to fish a larger popper for larger fish, but the funny thing is the small bass and perch are still taking this larger #4 popper.

Bass fishing is a good way to wait for the water flows to drop.

I think that warm water fly fishing is really taking off on the west coast now.

I mean that more fly fishers are finding out about how cool bass and panfish are and how much fun all the different flies are too.

I think warm water fly fishing is best from April though October in Nor Cal.

There are many close places to fly fish for these fish than anything else that swims.

If you can keep a fly fishing outfit in the trunk with a few bugs you could be surprised at how many small piece of water have fish in them near your home or work.

I think light salt water on our coast is very close to this as well.

Hey guys, I had to share another good day of fishing with you.

There are two small ponds at the corner of my neighborhood, they are concrete ponds and they are about 200' in diameter. They are small and there are only small bass, some small bluegill and quite large bluegill. Last season I caught a bass that was about 15" or 16" long and about 1.5lbs, I was very excited to catch a bass that large in that small pond. Tonight, using my little 7' 3wt and a small foam popper, I caught a bass about 18" long and about 2.5-3 lbs.

    Here's a picture:

When I saw it jump for the first time I freaked out, I was totally shocked. The crazy thing is that bass is my second largest bass caught from my neighborhood ponds, even better I caught it on my 3wt after only 20 minutes of fishing.

I love my new location, not trying to rub it in, I just know that you guys can appreciate my enjoyment more than my roomates.

    Very fun!
