Thread: good day on feather

    Default good day on feather

The last two times on the feather have been really fun. Today I first fished at bedrock park. Landed 1 nice 16 inch springer, had a about 8 of planted fish from a couple of days ago at the bedrock pool that I whiffed, and had one fish break off (their was a kids derby in the swimming pool). I then went up to the hatchery, where I whiffed on 5 fish, lost 1, and landed a fat 19 inch spring run fish (could tell since it was chrome on bottom, but had a slightly bigger red stripe than a fresh chromer.

All fish were on elk hair caddis dry's, and for me dry flying and catching a 20 inch steely is way more fun than nymphing and catching a 27 inch steely.

Steve, sounds like you had a lot of great action and on dries no less! You're going to have to start carrying a camera out there so you can share some cool pics with us.

Dear Mike, a year ago the DFG sent out letters to fisherman asking them to keep their limit of hatchery fish on the feather because they didnt want them to interbreed with the wild fish. Thus I do not feel guilty about keeping a semi chrome hatchery steelhead. I have a digital camera but no water proof container, but since I kept the fish I took pictures of it because since I am new to cameras I have never shown my parents pictures of my steelhead.

So heare is the semi chrome 19 inch springer, dead at my apartment. If this bothers anyone please do not look <spoiler space>

PS: a lot of the fish rose to elk hair caddis even tho there was no hatch
