    Default Upper Sac report

It had been too long since I last fished for trout. So last week I decided that it was time, regardless of water conditions. I was watching flows on several rivers, and the U Sac was the only one that was dropping. By Wednesday it was down to 3500 cfs. I've fished it at those flows before and its not great, but it's fishable. It was decided. By the time I left on Friday the river was back up to 4500 . Oh well, I was committed. First stop was Friday evening at Sims.

Yep, that's a lot of water Managed to hook one fish, but it immediately got into the current and with no possibility of following, it was off.

Saturday I went to Cantera, hoping that higher up the flows might be a little lower

I was determined to fish. So I hiked down the tracks 3 miles according to the GPS and fished my way back up. I found about 8 spots in that 3 miles that were fishable without risking my neck. Hooked several more fish and even landed a couple. So if your determined to fish the Upper, it's possible. But I would wait a couple more weeks...

    Nice report & photos.

Looks like the water was definitely higher than when we were up there last year around this time

If I ever get done remodeling this house hopefully I can make it out fishing.
