Well..it is official. Shad time is here. Yipeee!!! \/ I managed to get 3 very scrappy hens this evening up on the Russian River. A whole lot of fun on my ARC 1265 spey rod.

We got our first report today that someone caught some Shad on the Lower American River.

June is usually the best month for wading for Shad in the Valley rivers.

Went out last night on the American with Jeff F. and got 3 males on a size 10 surf candy. It's going to get better and better. Hopefully the flows will cooperate. Jeff C.
