Running line recommendation needed

Over the last couple of days I have been shad fishing using my ACR 1265 spey rod loaded with a skagit system. After only a few minutes of fishing I realized that I had very little control of the Rio SlickShooter running line. Wet hands plus wet line made for too slick a line and missed hookups as the line slipped through my fingers on several of my strikes. Same thing happened when I used amnesia. So...does anyone have a non-mono type running line recommendation?

Rio and Airflow have good fly line running lines.
