    Default Big Pardee Smallie

Here's a picture from another board of a smallie caught on gear out at Pardee today -- unofficial weight of 9 1/2 lbs. Regardless, a once-in-several-lifetimes quality of fish:

Don't know what the "line" in the picture is. Sure hope it wasn't a stringer.

    Hmmmmmmm ......

Very difficult to size that critter judging by the picture , to MY eyes it looks considerably smaller . The Smallie appears to be being held straight out towards the camara (which should make it look huge) . I read the story and can't get around the cord-thingie (the angler's friend said the fish was released ...... I cannot figure out what is attached to it) .

If it was 9 1/2 lbs. , it broke the state record by 7 ounces .

    Whatever size , still a beautiful Smallmouth - =D>

I have always heard Pardee Reservoir has a great smallmouth population.

I guess Trinity Lake/Clare Engle has lots too.

That might ber a new CA state record?

I hear the big ones are caught in Feb/March.

    Thanks HS

Yeah, I hear ya David about the photo thing. Very tricky judging fish pictures, especially when the angler is holding it out in front like you said. Still, that is a great fish!
