Thread: Tarpon worm fly ?

    Hey Carl,

    Here is a picture of my worm pattern, tied as a Neutralizer. Note that two shades of red are used to get the purple/red coloring.

    If you are intending to break the tarpon off, it is probably more complicated than necessary. However, this fly will lay just under the surface, exactly where you want it for tarpon. Even with full floating lines some of the rabbit-strip worm flies were too deep and rejected.
    The fly in the picture is a Tar 800 #2, but it can be tied on any size hook, with an adjustment to the foam length. I lost a couple of big tarpon with this fly, during "pre-worm" a few days earlier.



    ....yes, tarpon fever. Is it the end of May yet?

    We have not firmed up our dates yet, but it will be around June 1. We are staying on Big Pine.
