new guy new reel and new rod

I just purchase a new set up from kiene... 8 weight.. never fished for salmon/steelhead/striper on a fly before..anyone out there willing to show me the ropes..

i know hiring a guide is the best thing to do..but budget wont let me... im still new to fly fishing.. i have fly fish for trout four about 6 months.. i dont know too much yet. but willing to learn..

You may want to check out the local fly fishing club: California Fly Fishers Unlimited. They meet on the first Tuesday of each month. Their web site is www.cffu.org . The speaker this coming month is Hal Janssen...one of the best in the business!
