New guy new fly pole and reel

I just purchase a new set up from kiene... 8 weight.. never fished for salmon/steelhead/striper on a fly before..anyone out there willing to show me the ropes..

i know hiring a guide is the best thing to do..but budget wont let me... im still new to fly fishing.. i have fly fish for trout four about 6 months.. i dont know too much yet. but willing to learn..

If you really want to have massive fun, get a shooting head and get ready for shad. They should be here in a couple months and it would be time to build up your supply of shad flies.
