    Default December is the month.............

Joe Shirshac and Al Perryman both have told me that over the years they have intercepted the big winter run Steelhead as they come into the Lower American River at Watt Avenue.

A few years back Andy Guibord and Joe Shirshac were catching some of the big fish and then a big storm came in and ended it.

If you think about it they have to come in now or they would not be in the upper river January 1st when it opens..........dah.

I would try any riffle from Goethe Park downstream to River Park/Cal Expo right now.

    Hey Bill,
Are you granting Christmas wishes now too?
Coming up to Gardnerville between Christmas and New Year.
Already got the go ahead to sneak down to Sac Town for a
    day on the water.
Hope my wish comes true this year. Still have yet to score
a SH on the A. So far just bumps.

I stopped by the Nimbus Hatchery Ladder today and saw only one steelhead among the hundreds of salmon. Not surprising! Although the one I saw was easily 15lbs. Bigger than alot of the salmon. I ventured out to my spot today and hooked one fish for about 2 seconds (hot fish) and that was it. The rain sure helps fish move around.
